I have blonde hair and use a violet shampoo. is it really necessary to use the conditioner as well.?

i use the violet shampoo to tone down the gold and yellow which shows up. the shampoo does a good job but is it even more effective to use shampoo and conditioner. which one works better the shampoo or the conditioner. i just use a different brand non-violet but still a blonde conditioner at the moment.I have blonde hair and use a violet shampoo. is it really necessary to use the conditioner as well.?
the use of conditioner is conditional.
